Sotomayor Hearings – Update 7.15, 3:45 PM

I quite literally CAN’T KEEP UP with each new revelation of GOP hypocrisy, as they emanate out of the Sotomayor confirmation hearings.

In my post earlier, I mentioned a conservative group that has placed tv ads attempting to associate Sotomayor with Bill Ayers, because she once worked with the Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund (yeah, I know…it doesn’t make any sense).  Well, Republican Senator Orrin Hatch was sure to condemn the ads, of course…too bad he has a history of raising money for the group that produced the ads.  Orrin…we call that (both what you and your friends tried to do to Sotomayor AND what is plaguing you now) “guilt by association.”  How does it feel…?

And Senator Lindsey Graham…the senator who spent a wealth of time yesterday trying to make Sotomayor look like, at the very least, a “bully” (ironically, he did this by bullying her)…the same senator who thought it very important yesterday to accuse Sotomayor of having a  “temperament problem“…well, he felt quite differently when questioning Samuel Alito.  Back then, he said that it was innappropriate and unnecessary to question a judge’s “personality” and even apologized to Alito and his wife for some of the questioning:

I know I’ve asked this before, but don’t these “gentlemen” realize that their associations are a matter of internet-available, easily-accessible public record…and that their past statements are almost all available on YouTube?
